The Learnovate Centre is delighted to announce Zoom as a new Patron Member of the global research and innovation centre in learning technologies.

Zoom, experts in video communication, is the latest company to join Learnovate’s list of Patrons. This is the highest form of Learnovate membership and Patron members sit on the organisation’s Thought Leaders’ Circle and participate in its Research Working Groups.

Learnovate, an industry-led technology centre funded by Enterprise Ireland, provides thought leadership to the world’s learning and development community on the innovative use of learning technology. Based at Trinity College Dublin, it empowers organisations through the exploration and application of transformative technology solutions.

Zoom was founded in 2011 in San Jose, California and the service launched globally in January 2013. Now with more than 5,000 employees worldwide, Zoom has become a household name across the world.

Zoom provides a video-first Unified Communications platform for hybrid learning environments, administrative uses and community engagement with a single cloud-based platform for video and audio conferencing, chat, content sharing, webinars, and cloud phone.

The company has customers globally across a number of verticals including, but not limited to, education, healthcare, government, financial services, manufacturing, legal, IT services, SaaS companies, retail, oil and gas, and the consumer market.

Jane Ross, EMEA Education Lead with Zoom, says:

“Education is a number one priority for us globally and partnering with an organisation like Learnovate helps us to identify and address the needs of our community. From the short time that we’ve been a Patron Member, Learnovate has been incredibly proactive and engaging. Within the first couple of weeks, we were introduced to people and projects that aligned with our business priorities.”

Nessa McEniff, Learnovate Director, says:

“We are thrilled to welcome Zoom as a Patron Member of Learnovate. Zoom has supported and enabled continuous education and learning throughout the pandemic with its suite of innovative solutions. We are excited to have Zoom join our Thought Leaders Circle and provide industry insights for our research agenda on the future of work and learning.”
