We’re Hiring – Researcher, Software Developer

Location:Unit 28 Trinity Technology and Enterprise Centre,

Pearse Street, Dublin 2, Ireland

Reports to:DEVELOP Project Manager
Salary:Appointment will be made on the IUA researcher salary scale at a point in line with Government Pay Policy
Hours of Work:37 Hours per Week
Closing Date:31 July 2018

Standard Duties and Responsibilities of the Post

Working closely with the project manager and UX lead, you will:

  • act as lead developer for a software platform currently
    under development
  • implement new components to extend the functionality of the
    platform based on requirements and designs from our UX team
  • support the integration of 3rd
    party tools and services into the platform
  • manage the deployment of updates and fixes to production
    environment
  • implement appropriate unit, integration and system testing
  • produce technical documentation

 

Person Specification:

Required Technical Skills

DEVELOP is built using the following technologies, practical experience is a must:

  • Front end web development using Javascript frameworks
    (specifically we use Angular2)
  • Server-side web service development using Java (specifically
    we use the Play framework)
  • Relational (SQL) Databases (specifically we use PostgreSQL)

 

Additional
Technical Skills

We also use the following technologies in our build environment, experience in these will really help:

  • Containerisation technologies (specifically we use Docker)
  • Continuous Integration (specifically we use Jenkins)
  • Version control (specifically we use Gitlab)

Other Required Skills

You’ll be working on a small team within our organisation, you need to:

  • be a quick learner
  • be comfortable with complexity work
    independently and solve problems but know when to ask for help
  • be comfortable taking ownership of the entire software platform provide technical leadership communicate effectively with a multidisciplinary team across Europe
