Our final Link & Learn webinar is going to take a look back at the year that was! What a transformation in the world of EdTech with the explosion of AI in 2023. We wanted to take this opportunity to look back at the big changes, advancements and red flags that have been part of the conversation all year.

We have invited speakers from Industry, K-12/ Secondary School, Third Level and of course Research to discuss the changes AI has brought to their organisations, the challenges and the benefits to adopting AI and how they plan to harness it to future-proof their organisations.

We will also look at the development of regulations and how we can manage these new technologies for an equitable world.

Keynote: “AI: The Tipping Point for an EdTech Organisation?”

Daniel McCrea | Head of Partner Services | Adaptemy

For over ten years at Adaptemy, Daniel has delivered Award-Winning AI-Powered solutions for partners as diverse as Higher-Education Course Providers, The Ministry of Education in Singapore, Leading European Educational Publishers, Specialised Adult Learning Institutions. He has been doing “AI for learning” long before it was cool and is still passionate about its power to transform the learner landscape.

Panel Discussion: “2024 – What Will it Bring for the World of Learning?”

Panel Chair: Dr. Richard Harte | UX/UI Specialist | Learnovate

Richard holds a Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Maynooth University and a PhD from NUI Galway, where he studied older adults’ user experience with wearable medical devices. He has worked on several large EU healthcare projects in areas such as gait analysis, fall detection, patient monitoring, data visualisation and medical UI design. His skill set includes user-centered design, user testing, ethnography, UI design, risk management and his interests are all things user experience.

Joe Rayfus | Teacher & Assistant Principal | Mullingar Community College

Joe is currently a teacher and an assistant principal within Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board. He has a BA in Art and Design Education, and a postgraduate diploma in School Leadership. Earlier this year, he was awarded the overall Excellence in Education award at the inaugural ETBI awards for his work on collaborative practice and tackling chronic absenteeism. He is currently developing an online network to support school leaders through evidence-based school planning.

Elva Casey | Registrar | Hibernia College

Elva is currently engaged in doctoral studies at Trinity College on School Placement partnerships at primary level. She has presented at national and international conferences of a diverse range of topics including academic integrity, the National Quality Framework, School Placement and collaborative practice. She is co-chair of HAQEF, the HECA quality enhancement forum and serves on a number of internal and external committees and boards on academic integrity, ethical education and academic practices.

Jackie Brown | Director of Enterprise Learning Solutions | ETU

Jackie is part of the strategic advisory services team for ETU. She works with a select portfolio of Enterprise Clients to help them realise their adaptive learning strategies.  In her 20 years industry experience, Jackie has worked with a wide variety of clients including NGO’s,  Irish and International Governments, Professional Services Firms and multinational organisations, with a focus on leadership and management development.
