About the Searsol Project

The Searsol project began with an appraisal of the learning platform they were using however it has quickly grown into an ongoing partnership where Learnovate have accompanied Searsol through an accelerated digital transformation process. As a result of this collaboration Searsol are now working with Learnnovate to look at new product offerings and broader markets.

About Searsol

Searsol delivers bespoke training on touch-typing and digital literacy to students from 8 years old up to school-leaving age. The company has a focus on students with learning difficulties associated with dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism. As well as in-person, after-school training sessions, Searsol also runs camps during the school holidays.

The Problem

Initially, Searsol approached Learnovate looking for advice on how to address some technical difficulties they were having with their learning platform. Following on from this initial project, Learnovate started working with Searsol on the design and development of additional features for their product offering. Furthermore, at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Searsol once again talked to Learnovate looking for advice on how to develop a digital offering for their business.

The Research 

Learnovate provided evidence-based research recommendations on how Searsol could better use its online platform to motivate and engage students particularly around tutor interactions. Ultimately the new product offering subsequently developed gave students the ability to access the Searsol learning program remotely. Without their partnership with Learnovate, Searsol’s business would have been very badly impacted during Covid-19 restrictions.

The Result

As a result of their collaboration with Learnovate, Searsol were able to grow their business and also explore a number of other commercial opportunities.

Working with Learnovate has benefited Searsol in a number of ways:

Enabled the expansion of their after-school offering from 4 to 8 centres

Helped them develop a range of online/digital resources

Resulted in a 35% growth in their revenue

Allowed them to create 5 new positions within the company
